A policy on Board advisory committees
It shall be the policy of the Access Ready Board of Directors that each voting member of the Board shall hold a Chair of a given discipline and shall have the right to appoint members to an associated advisory/support committee to assist them and the Board.
These committees shall be strictly voluntary, and the members shall have no voting privileges outside the deliberations of the committee on which they sit. It is expected that these committees will operate when and where ever possible by consensus.
Committee members may serve on more than one advisory committee and may be recommended to the Chair by Board or Team members.
Depending on the discipline related to the committee each is expected to serve in an active advisory and promotional capacity.
There is no limit to the size of each committee and no term limit on the time a member may serve. Excluding the Chair of the committee, members may not serve as a voting Board member. and a voting committee member. Members may bring issues to the Board of Directors through the committee Chair and under special circumstances determined by the individual member to the Chair-CEO.
All members of the Board of Directors are Ex-officio members of all committees without voting privileges
The intent of this committee system is to build supporters across a wide range of fields, bring to the table divergent points of view and develop a recruiting process for future Board members, Execution Team members, contractors and donors/sponsors.
